The Ukrainian national team U20 completed the World Beach Wrestling Championship in Katerina (Greece) with six medals. Ukrainian athletes won two gold, two silver and two bronze medals, and the men's team became the winner of the team standings.
Six medals and team gold: the national team of Ukraine U20 successfully performed at the World Cup
The world championship took place on September 25 and became successful for the Ukrainian team in several categories at once.
Alevtina Lyashenko became the world champion in the weight category up to 50 kg. Another gold award for Ukraine was chosen by Ruslan Prokopov in the category of more than 90 kg.
The silver medalists of the championship were Karolina Poplavska in the category up to 60 kg and Samir Ibishov in the category up to 90 kg.
The Ukrainian team won two bronze medals in the weight category up to 80 kg — Ivan Zalisko and in the weight category up to 70 kg - Nadir-Khan Musayev.
A separate result of the tournament was the first place of the men's national team of Ukraine in the team standings. The Ukrainian team scored 75 points, ahead of the national teams of Georgia and Moldova. For the victory in the team standings, the Ukrainians were awarded the World Cup.
As a result, the Ukrainian team completed the championship with the following medal finish:
