There are athletes, and there are legends, with which the history of a whole sport begins. Semen Radulov is just such a case. For many years, he played for the Mongoose sports club, defending its colors until 2020 — and during this time he managed to become a name without which it is impossible to talk about the formation of beach wrestling in Ukraine. In 2017, when this sport was just beginning to make a name for itself on the world stage, with the support of Magomed Magdiev, Semyon won the title of the first ever world champion in beach wrestling. He was the first to represent Ukraine at this level — and the first to bring it victory. It was a moment that opened the way for all who would come after it. Today, Radulov's name is synonymous with the origins of beach wrestling, proof that Ukrainian athletes are able to be the first where no one else has been.
